Trigger weight is measured using a 500 gram weight suspended from the trigger shoe If you can pick up the gun with the weight and the trigger does not break, the trigger weight is at or above the required specification. This trigger weight setting is checked when the gun is in fire mode not in dry fire mode.
There are other instruments available to measure the weight of the trigger resistance, but they are very expensive.
As a standard practice, I check my trigger weight every month. Trigger weights can be purchased from Champions choice or Neal Johnson's or if you are industrious, you can make your own. Email me your address, If you wish, I can scan the applicable pages from the USA Shooting rulebook and send it to you in jpg format.
Good luck,
Bob...

: How is trigger resistance normally measured? Is there a particular type of scale, do people just hang weights on it until it fires, or ??? As I adjust the trigger on my 10m pistol I'd like to be sure I stay above 500g.
: thanks
