Hi. Any comments regarding the Anshutz 2002 versus the Steyr LG10P match rifles? Anyone know of a source with used air
rifles?
Thanks.. Brian

Scott says both are good guns, Anschutz is shot by more folks, the Steyr is relatively new to the air rifle scene, but is doing quite
well with a number of medals in its 2 year history. The Steyr just shot(equaled) the world record that was shot the year before
with an Anschutz. Scott is on his way to the Maryland show, will have several for sale there.

Hi Brian,
That's not an easy question to answer, since you are comparing a Single-stroke Pneumatic to a Pre-charged rifle. Both are
excellent, but the two different types of powerplants are hugely different.
If you are contemplating an PCP, then you might look at the Anschutz 2002 CA (I think that CA stands for "compressed air")
That would be a rifle much more similar to the LG10P. If you are thinking about an SSP, then you might look at Steyr's LG10,
which is more or less equivelent to the 2002. But then again, if you are thinking about an SSP, you really have to look at the
FWB 603 before you decide.
Aaaanyway. As for the PCP versions of these two manufacturers -- both are great, but some people might give the nod to the
Steyr because it has a built-in recoil dampener. Another nice feature that Steyr has are sights that can be canted. That counts for
a lot if you are one of those shooters who cants a lot. One thing that I really don't care for in the Steyr is that you must use
spacer plates to lengthen the stock's pull dimension. If you are long of limb, you might have to purchase more plates to get the
length that you want. Anschutz also uses spacer plates, but the newest versions of their rifles incorporate a new metal buttplate
mechanism that doesn't need spacers.
As for the rest of the two rifles, it really is more personal preference than anything else. Both are made to the highest order of
quality and precision. You just have to decide which type of loading mechanism, what color of stock, what type of trigger blade,
etc. that you want to live with. The first pictures of the Steyr rifles that I ever saw looked kinda bad, but they are really a lot
nicer looking in person. Of course, the Anschutz rifles can be had in several different types of wood, and two types of laminated
wood. The Anschutz rifles don't incorporate a recoil absorbing mechanism, but that didn't seem to affect the guy who set a new
world record last year.
You really won't go wrong with either brand, so don't sweat the decision.

Hi,
I myself is not much of a AR shooter but in our club, AR is having quite a good performance.
Another AR which you can put into consideration is the FWB P-70 which incorporates an internao absorber also. I have shot
both and feeling are excellent. It is pure personal in deciding which one to get.
Lastly, the P-70 have a new version that instead of wood or laminated stock, a new alloy stock (red) has been added in the
line-up which look beautiful. Looks like a .22 rifle.
