Hello everyone, I want to buy a better quality target gun than my present Daisy 717. My three choices are listed above. I know
they're not $1000 pistols(I can't afford) but what little I've read on other forums they are decent guns in the under $400 price
range. Can some of you help me on my decision. I love shooting 10 meter targets. Maybe one day I'll have the funds for a
Steyr, but for now its one of the three. How do these guns compare as far as accuracy, feel and value. Thankyou for your time.
Happy shooting,Billy

The Tau 7 feels similar to a Morini 162. If you plan to move up to $1000 air pistol the Tau 7 is a good place to start. They are
accurate and you can get enough shots from a 12 gram CO2 to shoot 10-15 sighters and a 60 shot match (the velocity is
adjustable if you find that you are not getting enough shots per CO2 cylinder). The Tau 7 is also very adjustable for weight and
balance.
The IZH-46 is also an accurate pistol but you have to cock it for every shot. The grips are plain and comfortable but they have
a tendency to wiggle loose.
The resale value of both pistols seems to be good so you could buy a used one, try it, and resale it if you didn't like it.
If you are serious about being a competitor shooting different pistols allows you to see and feel the differences in triggers, grips,
sights, and balance. The key is to incorporate the good (for you) characteristics into your main pistol.
I have been shooting 10 meter air pistol for about 5 years now and I have a closet full of air pistols: Gamo PR45, Daisy 777,
Tau 7, IZH-46, FWB
90, and a Morini 162e.

There is always the used ten meter pistols.Scott Pilkington usually has them or knows where to get them. I have shot the three
guns you talked about and I like the IZh. The gun had that "right" feel to it. Is there a chance you could try some of them before
you buy? Possibly a local club? (Yea, sure!)

Billy, I was recently faced with the same question. I opted for the IZH, and got it from someone who got a Chameleon. The
IZH is much easier to cock than the 717, and again, all you have to worry about is the pistol and pellets. If you prefer to not
cock, I can't help you with the other two. If you listne to the experts, you won't go wrong with either.
Keep your 717! (or better yet, let me know if you want to get rid of it)
