Hi everybody:
Did something know where I can find a review of the FWB 300S (but not in the beeman site or relateds)?. Also , what do you think of this rifle?
Thanks

Dear Sir:
The 300S is a good gun. However it is an old spring gun. To get the recoil reduction you need. The action actually slides back toward you. This can indeed freek out some people. It does take some getting used to. It is however a very fine shooting gun. If you could get it for less than $500.00 then I would say go ahead.
If you could not get it for this price or less. I would rather you look for a good price on a pneumatic. Many supply houses are selling pneumatics cheap. You can get a state of the art crank gun sometimes less than $900.00. Check Champions Choice,Champions Shooters Supply,Neil Johnson,Accuracy International and like vendors.
I hope this helps.

The 300s is still sold because it is the classic spring powered match air rifle. The amount of recoil absorbing slide back is tiny. This rifle is capable of one hole accuracy and is loved for it's mechanical perfection. True, for real 10 meter competition use you probably don't want to have to bother with the single very light side lever cocking stroke but many casual shooters love this gun for it's near perfect accuracy, it's wonderful mechanical feel and the fact that it's always ready to go. You don't have to bother with any compressed air connections or pump ups. You can trust whatever Beeman has to say on this rifle. A friend bought one earlier this year. He just uses it for casual plinking (lucky guy) and recently added a scope.

I purchased on this summer. I use it for target practice. The reasons I bought it are: 1) its excellent accuracy, 2) it is a mechanical spring arm which does not require pumps or compressed air, and 3)it has a trigger weight that is adjustable to a heavy pull, similar to military rifles that I sometimes compete with, and 4)its quality and durability.
I strongly recommend the rifle.
I should note that I purchased a FWB 90 air pistol with an electronic trigger. After 20 years the gun still works beautifully and FWB still stands behind it.
Alas, I have my reservations about the Beeman company. The original owner retired and the company has been sold to a new corporate owner. In my opinion, it remains to be seen how well the company will be run by its new owners. Time will tell.

Beeman has been owned by S/R for atl lest 4, maybe 5 years now, so they have a prety good track record, Bob Eck, the man at the helm is very interested in the business, and takes a hand on approach.(you can see the gun I engraved for him in their 25th anniversary catalog pg 60.) they maybe had a little bit of a problem at after the initial move sorting things out, but the last few years beeman has been real responsive to my knowledge.
