Hello JD,
The 103 is as good as it gets in an SSP. In fact, this pistol will stand toe to toe with any other 10m pistol out there, including the
PCP's.
The barrel shroud won't be scratchproof. Scratch-resistant, maybe, but you have to have a material that rates at least a nine on
the Mohs geological hardness scale before you can start talking about scratchproofness. Aluminum or steel won't come near
that.
have fun

The FWB 103 is a great air pistol. It has good velocity and is as accurate as anything else out there. The only reason you don't
see a lot of them on the line is the cumulative cocking effort over 60 shots can be a little tiring.
A good friend of mine has had one for eighteen months now. Fred had a hard night at a recent Open shoot, and this is where
you've got to take some care when using the 103 - he only half hooked the handle on the lever as he went to cock the gun,
resulting in the handle being flung about three metres down range when it slipped off the lever. The whole detail had to stop
shooting they were laughing that much. He now has the nickname of "Spear Chucka".
But seriously, you won't find a better SPP.
