Does anybody use the Hornady 90 gr. HBWC for competition or practice? The lighter bullet is attractive for several theoretical
reasons, but it seems to be very much out of favor. If you shoot it, what other components are in your recipe?
Thanks! Bill P.

I use a 85gr HBWC made here in Australia. For some quirky reason the same powder charge works best with both 85 and 98
grain projectiles. I use 1.5 grains of WST with a mild crimp in my FAS. I used the same load in an old Pardini I borrowed 18
months ago and shot some terrific groups with it, so I'd say it works well in both brands.

I got my best 50 yard groups the 98gr Lapua bullets.
Bullseye, WST, and VV310 all produced good accuracy.
I was able to get acceptable 25 yard groups with all the
bullets I tried, but at 50 yards only the 98gr Lapua held
up in my GSP-C. I used the 83gr Lapua at 25 yards.
Champions Choice carries the 98gr Lapua, but they dropped
the 83gr.

I've been using 1.9 gr. WW 231 with CCI primers. Good accuracy, but throws brass like a madman!!
BTW this is with the 90 gr. Hornandy HBWC.

Been using a cast Lyman 84 gr wadcutter sized .314 for years -- accuracy from a Ransom Rest at 25 metres is less than 1.5X
bullet diameter from my Walther GSP. CCI primers, 1.6 grains 700X shotgun powder, and ABSOLUTELY no crimp (crimps
shave lead, are dependent on brass length for consistent roll). This combo gives top accuracy, low recoil, dumps brass 2 feet
from your arm.
