I am intending to join into the 25 m center fire competition and finding a right pistol for it.
As the rules mention that cal. up to 9mm / .38 can be used, I am considering makes like Morini 32M, I would like some advise that is it better to use a dedicate gun for the cal. or models from other makers that offer conversion kits to turn their .22 to .32, will this affect precision/ grouping. Another a bit weird choice is the H & K USP Match in 9mm, or is this gun more suitable for the IPSC type of competition. How is it in grouping as compare to others?
Just point of interest, can these pistols shoot also one hole groups like air pistol or single shot free pistol?

You may get better results with a 32 which is very acccurate at 25 meters. The Walther,Pardini, and Hammerli are all designed for this event. As for one hole groups maybe not as small as a 22 but
the size of a quarter is reasonable.

An additional note regarding 22/32 conversions. Walther (and I presume others) offer different trigger groups to accomodate the different minimum trigger weight requirements of various events. While the triggers are adjustable to a degree, it generally isn't possible to adjust a 22 trigger up to meet the requirements for a centerfire event. Thus, unless you want to swap trigger groups everytime you convert from 22 to 32, you may want to order the centerfire trigger group.
This will give you a heavier trigger than is necessary in the 22 events, but given the quality of the trigger and the fact that you can load most of it in the first stage, it isn't that much of a factor. It's also nice to get to know one trigger instead of having to learn two.
This is the approach I've used for my Walther 22/32 set in NRA conventional pistol.
