The only lube that should be used on the single stroke guns is the FWB white grease. It should be used to clean the bore, lube the joints and on the exterior metal surfaces to prevent rust. The reason NO petroleum based oils should be used any where on the gun is because they have a tendency to migrate to the compression chamber. When they are introduced to the compression, they can be ignited when, just for a millisecond the temperature reachs just over 2000 degrees. This then attacks the piston seal. This is especially true with the rifle. As the seal is eaten away the volume becomes larger and the velocity decreases. There should have been a warning slip packed with your gun.
