I was checking out the IZH 46 on the golden Toller website and noticed the IZH-53M. How might this gun compare to the daisy 717 as a beginners piece? The speed is comparable to the 46 and the grip looks a bit more like a match grip than the daisy. Any opinions would be appreciated.

IZH-46 is very good in all respects, and when price is considered, there is no value like it. The 53M is a spring piston, and so there is recoil. I don't imagine the sights or trigger adjust anywhere near as well as the 46. Don't know about the Daisy. Hope this helps.

I have a IZH-53M, a spring type air pistol. It has some considerable recoil and this as you know can cause problems, it takes some getting use to. After about 4 weeks I'm moving up to the IZH-46.
I suggest if you are looking to do your best, get the IZH-46 or the Daisy 747.
