I noticed on the breach face of my Pardini GP rapid fire pistol
there is a semi-circular ridge about 1/2mm high, going from 9 o'clock
position to 12 o’clock ( there is a small cut for the firing pin at
the 12 o'clock position ),then the ridge continues to about two
o'clock. The groove for the extractor is at 3 o'clock.
I do not own other Pardini pistols so I cannot tell if the standard
pistol and the centerfire pistols are the same.
Can someone tell me what this ridge is supposed to be for? With this
ridge in place a chambered round makes contact with the ridge on its
upper rim but not the lower half, thus causing some freeplay.
Will this affect accuracy?

The ridge you describe is there to improve ignition on the less than wonderful .22 short ammo that is out there and then protect the chamber mouth from damage when, as most rapid fire shooters do, a "sixth" dry-fire shot is made as the shooter "follows through" after firing the bank of targets. The other Pardini models do not have this ridge, but it is helpful in the .22 short and does not affect accuracy, but improves reliability and durability. Good shooting!
