I am getting ready to
take the plunge from ssp (Izh-46) to scuba and have narrowed the choices to
Pardini K2 and Morini 162EI. I have handled and found them both WONDERFUL
(slightly better trigger on the 162, slightly nicer feel / balance on the K2).
Here is what I need from you all: What negative experiences has anybody had with
either of these units? Please, no rumors or second-hand stories. And please stay
on-topic; no "You ought to look at FWB, Steyr, etc." This decision will be
hair-splitting, so please help me identify the right hairs.
Thanks in
advance.
Posted by Warren on November 12, 2001 at 09:36:47: I've shot both of these
pistols under match conditions. I hadn't answered yesterday because I thought
you'd have had a dozen relevant answers by now.
I also liked the balance of
the K2 (I grew up shooting a GSP Sport Pistol, so like the nose heavy balance).
Even though I like a rolling release on the trigger I found the one match I shot
to be difficult to find the sweet spot for trigger shoe placement - when I
though I had it right I'd find ten shots later I'd be pulling to the left or
right. Nothing wrong with the gun of course, but I think to be fair to it I
should have kept shooting it for a few matches to become familiar with a real
roll release again. Overall I was under whelmed by my performance BUT I know in
time I'd have grown to love its feel. Bearing in mind that MOST air shooters
don't like that long second stage.
The Morini I've shot at various times
over the past few years. Sure the trigger's good, but so is a well set up
mechanical. The first time I shot one I hated it, finding the front end twitchy,
and I threw 8s where I called 9s. When I next shot one I added a factory weight
to the front, which made a world of difference. The balance became better, I
gained a lot of confidence in my hold and actually shot a respectable score with
it.
Hope this helps a little.

See Andi's message
#19118, below.
I have the Morini, moving to it from the Feinworkbau P34. My
scores are better with the Morini. I note that over time, my second stage spring
seems to lighten up a bit.
I prefer this pistol for my practice routines.
Its great being able to practice trigger pulls without the need to recock after
each shot.
The manometer is worthless. Mine shows little movement over the
use of a cylinder. I simply refill after every 100 shots.
Those are my only
complaints. The chief Morini engineer is a reader on this website; Repesch will
answer your questions.
