Hobo Nickels

Hobo nickels are a unique American art form, originating from hobos carving nickels as a form of payment back in the Great Depression. While mostly beards or hats were added to the Indian profile on the front, many unique things were done to the buffalo as well. Today lots of coin carving is going on in America and around the world actually. Here are some of my commissions on coins, and a few of my friends work thrown in for good measure.

This was done for the owner of the house, and the coin was from the year of her birth, as can beseenon the backside where I signed it.
