Steyr Free Pistol

Sight Adjustments

If shots are going high, turn screw (left side of receiver from rear) towards “H”.
If shots are low, turn screw towards “T”.
Windage screw is on right side of receiver from rear.
If shots are to the right, turn towards “R”. If shots are to left, turn towards “L”.
1 click = 6mm @ 50m.

 

Cant

Rear sight cant adjustment.

Rear sight is adjustable for cant by loosening locking screw as shown, rotating the sight and retightening the screw.


Front sight cant adjustment.

The front sight can then be canted accordingly by loosening the grub screws under the muzzle break, turning to the desired angle and retightening the screws.

 

Sight Radius

Front sight position adjustment.

The sight radius can be adjusted by moving the front sight to any of four positions on its holder. Retighten in the desired position.

 

Rear Sight Width/Depth

Adjustment of rear sight width and depth.

The rear sight opening can be widened to a maximum of 5mm by turning either screw 2 clockwise or screw 1 anticlockwise. The reverse closes the opening. Depth of the rear sight opening can be adjusted from 1.8 to 2.6mm by loosening screws 3 and shifting the cover plate up or down.

 

Trigger Adjustments

Trigger Weight

Trigger weight adjustment.

The trigger weight is adjustable from 15 to 200 grammes. Turning the adjusting screw (just behind cocking indicator pin) clockwise will LOWER trigger weight.

 

Trigger Shoe

Trigger shoe adjustments.

By loosening screw A the trigger shoe may be moved up and down and rotated around the shaft. Retighten after adjusting.
By loosening screw B the trigger shoe holder, including the shoe, can be moved fore and aft and tilted laterally. Retighten after adjusting.
Manual advises screw C is already set and should not be adjusted.
