Steyr Air Pistols
The formula for success of the world's best air pistol shooters!1st advantage: 2nd advantage: 5th advantage: 6th advantage: |
The pistol uses compressed air as propellant, with cylinders charged to 200 bar. A pressure reduction valve reduces and stabilizes the actual shooting air pressure to about 55 bar. Normal shooting capacity for the LP10 is about 170 shots per air charge.
Distinctive to the LP10 is the stabilizing system, which uses a small tungsten piston to compensate for impulse movement of the pistol caused by firing. The LP10 also uses barrel ports and a muzzle brake to counteract muzzle rise and recoil.
The LP10 air pistols have fully adjustable sights - the rear sight is adjustable for elevation and windage. Additionally, the depth of the rear notch is adjustable, as is the sight line length. The trigger is two-stage and can be adjusted for over-travel, first stage weight and travel, and second stage weight and sear engagement. The trigger mechanism can be dry fired.
The LP10's anatomically shaped grip is made by Morini and has an adjustable palm shelf. Rake and rotation of the grip is adjustable with screws under the grip.
Unlike most target air pistols, the LP 10 has a barrel shroud and is offered in an optional bright silver colored metal finish. Four 10 gram barrel weights also come with the gun.
The LP10 comes in a polymer pistol carrying case with manuals, two pre-compressed air cylinders with built in pressure gauges, an air filling adapter, and tools.

LP 10 Compact silver

The
advantages of the COMPACT models:
Shorter sighting line:
The sight
radius of the LP 10- and LP 50-Compact-models is
more variable than the LP 2 Compact: Length of sight
radius of LP 10 C is between 266 and 315 mm and the
LP 50 C is between 257 and 300 mm. The distance
between the rear and front sight is shorter by 50 mm
compared to the standard models and shows a more
stable sight picture in relationship to the target.
The steadier sight picture will increase confidence
in young and old alike and allow them to concentrate
on trigger release.
Lighter weight:
The lighter weight means that the young
shooter is able to train for longer periods to
perfect strength and technique.

With the introduction of the new ISSF Rapid Fire Air Pistol events the continued worldwide popularity of the Steyr LP50 is doubly assured. For many years it's predecessor (the LP5) has been a favorite of NRA Bullseye shooters for home training - for the timed and rapid fire series. It is a very versatile pistol with changeable light to heavy trigger units and the ability to mount a red dot sight with ease. The new LP50, introduced in 2003, features a pre-cut shroud* for scope/dot mounting, cylinders with manometers and fitted carry case.
* factory cut shrouds are available exclusively from PCE.

In the tradition of the most successful match air pistol - the LP2 incorporates the fundamental features that have made Steyr so successful - all in a less expensive package than their flagship LP10. Trigger, grip and powerplant remain the same. And for those who found loading a pellet directly into the barrel a little fiddly, this model features a mechanical loading port that seats the pellet with the closing of the cocking arm.
