What to do When You Get a RUST Item in Your Loot Drops

When you play any game long enough, you’ll eventually hit a wall. You might not be able to progress further until you get better items, or perhaps the enemies are too difficult for you until you grind some levels. In the case of games like PUBG and Fortnite, those walls can come in the form of a limited number of available loot crates. But even if your game isn’t limited by a meta that requires an insane amount of in-game purchases to continue progressing, getting rarer and more helpful items is still pretty rare no matter what type of game you are playing. Finding good loot in any game is always a pleasant surprise, but finding RUST Items in your Loot Drops doesn’t always have a happy ending.

What is RUST?

RUST is an Early Access survival game that has been around since 2014. It takes place on a giant map that includes mountains, rivers, swamps, forests, and many other types of terrain. The player is put in a multiplayer team with up to 16 other people, and the goal is to survive as long as possible. You can craft items, build bases, collect resources, and fight other players or wild animals. The game is available on PC and Xbox, but it’s important to know that this article will only be focusing on the PC version.

What to do when you get a RUST item in your Loot Drops

If you see a RUST item in your loot drops, you should remove it immediately. If you don’t, other players will see it and know that it’s a RUST item. If they have a friend who is currently playing RUST, they can send that friend a message that includes a link to your Steam profile and the item in your inventory. When the RUST player sees the item in your inventory, they can click the link and instantly teleport to your location and steal the item. If the RUST item is a piece of armor, the Rust player will instantly become hostile towards you and other teammates.

If you receive a RUST item in your loot drops, it will be in your inventory but it will also be RUSTED. Once an item has been RUSTED, it cannot be removed. If you try to drop it, repair it, or give it to another player, you’ll see text that says “this item is rusted, and can’t be removed.” You can still equip it, but if you do, other players will see that item in your inventory and know that it’s RUSTED. The Bottom Line

There are plenty of items that can be RUSTED in any game, but finding one in your loot drops can be a bummer. Thankfully, there are plenty of ways to prevent this from happening, and it’s not hard to tell if an item is RUSTED. If you receive a RUST item in your loot drops, don’t panic. Instead, learn from it and try to prevent it from happening again.
